Citi announced plans to cut management layers from 13 to eight as part of its biggest overhaul in decades. Citigroup declined to comment on all the personnel moves, and none of the leaders named responded to requests for comment. The full reorganization could involve thousands of layoffs, according to a source familiar with the situation who was not authorized to speak publicly. Preparations for Monday's announcements were communicated verbally in meetings last week, according to another source familiar with the situation. Final announcements related to the overhaul will be made early next year, Fraser said in a memo to employees.

Prior to the restructuring, Europe was part of its EMEA business unit, the second-largest region on a revenue basis, according to Citi's 2022 annual report. Gutiérrez-Orrantia was appointed in 2021 as its co-Head of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA) for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and has spent 19 years at the bank. The US bank recently appointed former Deutsche Bank UK deputy CEO Tiina Lee as UK Citi Country Officer (CCO) and UK cluster and banking head.

July 10 (Reuters) - Ignacio Gutierrez-Orrantia, one of Citigroup's (C.N) top bankers in Europe, will remain at the bank, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday, following media reports that he was set to join Spanish power utility Naturgy (NTGY.MC) as CEO. On Sunday, he had called Naturgy's chairman and CEO Francisco Reynes, two of the people said. Naturgy and Citi declined to comment. After rival Iberdrola (IBE.MC) appointed Armando Martinez as CEO last year, Naturgy’s leadership structure, with the power concentrated in the hands of Reynes, had become an anomaly among large Spanish energy companies. (CNN) Saying goodbye is never easy, but the Goldberg family is doing the best they can in the new season of "The Goldbergs." The show wasted no time addressing the exit of Jeff Garlin from the sitcom, mentioning in the opening moments of Wednesday's season premiere that patriarch Murray had passed away "just a few months ago" and went on to show the family still processing their grief. Adam and Barry worked through some of their feelings in a "Field of Dreams"-inspired plot. The process forces Beverly to confront Murray's absence and her inability to go through some of his remaining belongings. She ultimately decides it's time to do so, clearing a closet full of his clothes and getting rid of his old chair.
